Dearest friend

I am writing you as I've been asked my advice on portable sound systems for the baltimore kinetic sculpture race,
and I really don't know much about portable sound systems.

They are considering buying a new Samson XP-300 Portable PA System
specs:
SamsonĀ® XP-300
Portable PA System

Built-In Wheels & Telescoping Handle
Built-In Four Channel Stereo Mixer & Two Band Equalizer
XLR Line Level Output
RCA Stereo Inputs
150 Watts RMS Amplifier Powers the Lower Frequencies
50 Watts RMS Amplifier Powers the Higher Frequencies
Variable Speed Tape Deck (included)
2 Way Speaker System - 10" Woofer & 2" Tweeter
Optional Samson Wireless Mic! (Mounts inside case)
1 Year Parts & Labor Limited Warranty by Samson

and are
"not sure how the watts transfer into how big of a crowd it would be suitable for."
and
"could tell me your opinion on this speaker or if you have other suggestions"

Again I've never gone beyond a bullhorn and boombox,
and somehow through my experience with you
consider you a possible expert or someone who might know one.

Some background on the group can be found at www.fluidmovement.org
and they are friends, and don't have much more than the samson is priced at to spend (~$600 or so)

Could use a response by sat 1/22/06 if possible.

Thanks!

Love
Live

Gavin

p.s. how you been?
